Loni Anderson with The Village People – I’m pretty sure this is from when they were all on the same episode of THE LOVE BOAT in 1980.

This is really more a quick recipe than a “hack,” but it seems every tip and hint is now a hack, so that’s what I’m going with. We’re going to dress up a pre-made soup with a couple ingredients and get an entrée (or soup course) that tastes like you worked so hard.
First, get lobster bisque. Panera sells a 16-ounce tub in the refrigerated deli section of supermarkets, but I’d suggest the Walmart Marketside version. It’s cheaper and by the time we doctor it up, any quality difference will be buried.
Mike Read, a veteran radio DJ and TV host in the UK, has a weekly “programme” called “The Heritage Chart Show.” Not living in the UK, I’ve only every seen clips of the show on YouTube, but basically, Read interviews bands from the ‘70s and ‘80s who are still making music today and plays their music videos. Here’s a clip with Limahl, the lead singer of Kajagoogoo (“Too Shy”) who also had a solo hit with “The NeverEnding Story.” (In case you ever wondered, “Limahl” is an anagram of Christopher Hamill’s original last name.)
A few years ago, Brach’s realized that the candy corn machine was only getting used in October. So, if they came up with “seasonal” candy corn, maybe they could squeeze out a little more money. First, there was Thanksgiving candy corn with flavors including roasted turkey and cranberry sauce and green beans. I tried ‘em. You know stuffing-flavored candy corn will be disappointing, but even “coffee” and “apple pie” weren’t that hot.
When I’m concentrating on a writing project, I like music with no lyrics or, at least, lyrics in a language I don’t speak. Amadou & Mariam are good for that. From Mali, they sing in French and Bambara. Since I don’t speak either, the music helps me find a flow, but the words don’t fight with my own thoughts.
